Standard Five Motivation and Management

Standard Five Motivation and Management:

The teacher uses an understanding of individual and group motivation and behavior to create a learning environment that encourages positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation.

This link provides tips and hints of different ways a teacher can facilitate a discussion that would could encourage social interaction, active engagement in learning and increase a students motivation level.

This link describes four stages that Lawrence Kohlberg developed and created that deal with a student’s behavior. He explains that children go through different stages of behavior while growing up. I felt this is important because it offers an insight into each stage and what teachers deal with on a daily basis while trying to manage their classroom and teach the content to the students.
