This link explains my personal rationale on assessment and what assessment means to myself.
This link is an example of a quiz for the Civil Rights Movement unit plan I created for my methods class. This quiz would be given half way through the unit plan so that I could see if my students understand the vocabulary. If they do not, it gives myself a chance to go back and review the vocabulary and to find out why my students do not understand the vocabulary before the culiminating assessment.

This link is an example of a Cloze assessment. This assessment is usually used as a pre-assessment in order to determine how many of your students already have a background in the unit that you are about to teach.
